Problem:
Rainy Day Restoration received an emergency call from a home builder partner of theirs, regarding a property that sustained water intrusion during a heavy storm. Rain had entered through a vent on the north side of the home, causing moisture buildup beneath the kitchen cabinets. Upon inspection, our team discovered extensive water damage and visible mold growth behind the cabinetry and drywall.
Our Process:
Our certified water mitigation and licensed mold remediation team responded promptly to prevent further structural damage. Using moisture meters, thermal imaging, and hygrometers, we identified all affected areas and developed a containment and restoration plan to ensure a safe, thorough cleanup.
We followed our five-step restoration process:
1. Inspection & Containment – Conducted a detailed assessment and established containment barriers to prevent cross-contamination throughout the home.
2. Demolition & Removal – Removed damaged kitchen cabinets, flooring, and affected drywall to expose and eliminate all mold-contaminated materials.
3. Drying & Filtration – Installed professional air movers, dehumidifiers, and HEPA air scrubbers to remove excess moisture and improve indoor air quality.
4. Treatment & Structural Repairs – Applied antimicrobial treatment to disinfect affected areas and prevent mold regrowth. After correcting the vent pipe position, we also removed and replaced sections of exterior brick and mortar to stop future leaks.
5. Rebuild & Restoration – Reinstalled new drywall, cabinetry, and flooring to restore the kitchen to its pre-loss condition.
